Biofilm Bioreactor

MA Biofilm bioreactor (MA BFBR) is a MA Fixed Bed Bioreactor (MA FBBR) commonly used for waste water treatment application comprising a mechanically agitated bioreactor and a column packed with a bed of high density polyethylene biofilm carriers or the likes. The bacteria culture fluid is recirculated between two vessels and forms the biofilm on the carriers. Then the system can be used to perform the function of a biofilm bioreactor including bioconversion, biosorption etc. in the system. It can also be performed as a AL Moving Bed Bioreactor (AL MBBR) system described in the separate page using the biofilm carriers generated by this BFBR system.
